Pamela Trokanski Dance Theatre Made to Move....
|
Since their first Davis performance in February, 1985, the Pamela Trokanski Dance Theatre has built a reputation for creative choreography, unique community outreach programs, and a wide variety of opportunities for the "non-traditional" dancer, integrating dance into the community.
What are some of our programs?
The Davis Dance Project, A lecture/ demonstration/ performance on dance that includes audience participation opportunities and free tickets for children 12 and younger. Local columnist Bob Dunning write:
GENIUS AMONG US … several weeks
ago I had the distinct pleasure of
attending “The Tao of Isms” ...
normally, dance is not my thing, but
the dialogue that accompanied the
various dance numbers was nothing
short of brilliant … the rest of the world
doesn’t know what it’s missing …
(Davis Enterprise,March 27, 2011)
And prompted the Sac Bee Critic to
say:
"Davis choreographer Pamela
Trokanski is perhaps unique among
local dance creators in being able to
marry autobiography, popular culture
and universal concern into works of
surprising seriousness and humor."
